POLICY VIEW EXPLAINED

This article explains how the innovative "Policy 2.0" approach (described here) is brought to life by the Policy 2.0 App. This new approach is designed to be significantly easier, highly intuitive, and operationally functional, enabling users to manage policies with unparalleled ease.

But what does this actually look like in practice? Let's delve deeper and explore the features of the policy view.

#1: Policy View - Overview

The Policy View page lets you manage policy details, including its principles and associated CORE Elements.

There are five main areas of a Policy View:

1. Basic Information: This displays the main details about a policy. In particular, it includes:

   1. Objective: what the policy aims to achieve.

   2. Outcomes: the results that will experienced if the policy meets its objective. This is a great place to include the Board's Risk Appetites.

   3. Governance info: where the responsibility of this policy lies across staff, teams and entities.
      

2. Policy options: At the top right of the Basic information Card are the options to:

   1. Plus icon: for adding new Principles.

   2. Pencil icon: updating policy basic information.

   3. Printer icon: exporting the policy as a pdf.

   4. Doc icon: access to any "traditional" policies attached to this policy. This option allows firms to retain their existing policies, which they may share with external stakeholders.
      

3. Switching Policies: Use the “Load Policy” drop-down to choose a different policy. Remember to click the “Load Policy” button to load your selection.
   

4. Relational Information: This section shows the number of Risks, Controls, Indicators and Actions (CORE Elements) attached to this policy. The colours of these items indicate their current operational status in the business.
   

5. Policy Principles: These principles are presented as concise statements, complemented by descriptions of "what good looks like" – that is, the desired outcomes the business aims to achieve. This method ensures clarity in policy direction while simultaneously granting teams the flexibility to reach these outcomes through the most effective means available.
