Using Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), also referred to as 2-Step Verification, adds an extra layer of protection to your account. Typically, individuals rely on only one layer, their password, to safeguard their account. However, with 2FA, even if a hacker gains access through your password, they will still require your phone or Security Key to enter your account.
Setting up 2FA
Step 1: Install the free Google Authenticator App
Download the free Google Authenticator App ( Android | iOS ) on a smart phone you have access to, follow the installation instructions to get install the application.
Once installed, the application should show a clean interface with a “+” icon on the bottom right. When you see this, you are ready to setup your 2FA for CORE.
Step 2: Activate 2FA in your user profile.
To activate the 2FA, head over the to used profile (1) and toggle on the 2FA switch (2) to activate the 2-Step Verification.

Step 3: Set up your Access Code
The QR code is used to link your account to Google Auth. This allows the Google Auth App to generate an Access Code that’s unique for each user every 60 seconds. To setup your access code:

Click on the “+” icon at the bottom of the Google Auth app.
Select the “QR Code” option in the App.
Scan the QR code shown in your user profile page (see #1 in the image below).
Once the QR code is successfully scanned, a 6-digit Access Code will appear in the Google Auth App.
Enter the Access Code shown in the Google Auth app to link the account in the 2FA Panel (see #2 in the image below).
For safekeeping, keep a copy of the recovery codes (see #3 in the image below). These one-time use recovery codes can be used when you don't have access to your Google Auth App.

If you followed the steps above, your 2FA setup should be complete. During your next login, you will be required to provide both your password and Access code. It's important to have your device with Google Auth readily available.
